Here's a link to a very interesting post by my friend [personal profile] ayeamspartacus (who really should be a syndicated columnist, in my humble opinion). It compares George W. Bush to Abraham Lincoln. Spart's observations may surprise you.

Edit: I can't get this to be a "live" link, despite several attempts. So you'll have to cut and paste it into your browser, rather than just clicking on it. Sorry. But I think you'll find it worth your while.

<a href="http://ayeamspartacus.livejournal.com/80568.html">linkypoo text</a>

Resulting code looks like:
linkypoo text

I did go to the LJ FAQs to try to figure it out, and saw what you're talking about. But I still didn't get it right. I didn't understand what they were asking for in the section you call linkypoo text. The instructions weren't that clear to me. I'll try to do better next time!

I take it you do this in the html window? I usually use the Rich Text editor, and just putting the URL in the "insert link" box (or whatever it's called, since I can't see it from here! :))usually works... but not always.

Yeah, you would only use this in the not-rich-text editor. ;)

Maybe so...

But I bet he knows how to make his links work with just one shot from his six-pistol!

No comment....which, I guess, is a comment.

I admit I'm not sure what you mean by "no comment." When my mother would say that, she meant, "It is beneath me to comment," meaning she disdained/had contempt for whatever it was. So that's how I tend to "read" your comment here.

But I suppose it could also mean, "I'm neutral," or even "I agree."

In my case, I'm afraid I strongly disagree. No disdain or contempt, though. Much sadness for such a misinterpreted view of history.
