What makes you feel good?
1. What is the one outfit/piece of clothing/accessory you own that makes you feel incredibly good whenever you wear it? Why?
My great-grandmother's locket that my grandmother gave me to wear at my wedding -- and when I tried to return it to her afterward, she told me to keep it. It is a connection to her and to ancestors I never met.
2. What do you do to make yourself feel better when you're in a funk?
Lately, work in the garden. When there is no garden (as in winter), I really don't have a plan. Need one.
3. Has anyone ever surprised you in a way that let you know you were special? How?
Yes -- a LJ friend whom I've never met in this lifetime gave me a paid LJ subscription! (I was floored.) Am glad I found out who it was!
4. When you are having a "good day," how do you spread the happiness to others?
By being supportive, maybe? I work alone, so there are not lots of opportunities for RL interaction during the day.
5. What is one thing that puts you in a bad mood, no matter how good you were previously feeling?
There is someone in RL, anonymous, who keeps "reporting" me to the Humane Society, the local Animal Inspector, etc., saying my horses are in a bad environment/not being cared for. At this point, the Numane Society people and the Animal Inspector know this is crap, they have come here and see the horses are happy and well cared for (yes, I wish, wish, wish I could get them pasture, but I cannot), but they are obligated to come and investigate. They have no problem with my situation.
The latest complaint was that my paddock is "too muddy." We have had the wettest spring on record here!! And there are dry places for the ponies to go. They are smart, and they don't stand around in mud.
Sorry, went off on a rant there. But when this anonymous asshole calls and I then get the obligatory calls from the HSUS and animal inspector, it sets me off into self-flaggelation and weeping. The icky part is thinking this is probably a neigbhor who smiles at me in public and says hello, but is bad-mouthing me bahind my back. What I want to say its:
IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND YOU SEE MY CAR IS IN THE DRIVEWAY, COME TALK TO ME. DO NOT TRIANGULATE.

Date: 2006-06-24 12:11 am (UTC)The other thing that may be going on is that my husband was the head of what is the small-New-England-town version of a city council. He was the leading voice in making some decisions that some people did not agree with. There was some nasty stuff going on then. He always wonders if this "animal mistreatment" stuff is coming from people still mad had him who are taking it out on me, as my horses are more visible than policies.
