That sounds wonderful! I remember when I had a garden, and would go outside to pick lettuce and fresh tomatoes for the evening's salad.

I miss that.

This reminds me of the time I asked a friend to go out and pick a few beans out of the garden. She looked at me like I had three heads!

Turns out she had never seen beans growing before in her life. Ever. She was delighted!

I had some green beans once. I traded our last cow for them when my Mom sent me to town to sell her during a famine. The guy who traded with me said they were magic, but all they did was grow a giant stalk that had some freakin' castle on top of it with a bunch of drunk Rennies in it...

Ahem. Anyway, I can't get over the fact that Jessie Cat looks just like a smaller version of Neko. I guess tuxedos are fairly common...

Cat confusion

The cat in last night's icon is Stella, our female tuxedo. Jesse Cat is *this* one -- black with a scattering of white hairs that aren't visible except on close inspection, but no tuxedo.

Thanks for the bean story. But what's a Rennie? (Redneck?) I don't know the term...

Rennies! Sorry. May be local slang. Rennies are people who work at Ren-Fairs. A lot of my friends, both in real life and LJ are rennies, so it was a good-natured joke.

So it is Stella who looks like Neko! Since she's a girl, it's only fitting that she is more petite.

I suppose I should explain ... LOL. I have a client who was [make that "is"] driving me nuts. I'd just killed myself on a fundraising letter following *his* direction, while thinking, "This isn't going to work." Then, as I was about to head out to pick the beans, he called me to say the same thing. Well, duh. He had to leave for an appointment (it was 5 p.m.), so he ran some of his issues by me and told me he'd be home by 7 p.m., and to call him there to continue the conversation. Which, of course, would be when I'd be trying to *cook* dinner (my daughter wouldn't be home from her after-school job until 8 p.m.).

I was royally pissed, it had been a stressful day, and I just wanted the Universe to keep people from interrupting me for a few minutes!

And I guess it worked, because when I called the client at his house at 7:15, he was not there...

He did email today after I'd slaved over a revision, and I just revised the damn thing *again!*
