A local reporter reflects on Ted Kennedy.

I thought this was worth sharing. (I also like how he points out that Ted's famous accent was not "Bostonian.")

I have my own small, personal memory of Ted that I tried to share on Wednesday, but LJ ate it. I may attempt it again.

Very well written article. I've never been a democrat(I'm more of a free thinker not really affiliated with a single party) but I certainly admired the work of Ted Kennedy. Always wondered how they got from Edward to Ted.

I just read that the nickname is from a custom in the Middle Ages that created "rhyming nicknames" that used consonants that didn't necessarily match the starting letters of the real names. For example: Dick for Richard (Rick), Polly for Molly, Ted for Ed.
