(And yep, it's very true, warts and all. Although I don't get the first cartoon. I don't see haunted looks on the faces of my friends as they consider me. However, I do notice haunted looks on the faces of others who are, say, hurt by comments others make about them (such as at UU Board meetings! :P . Is that what the cartoon is trying to say?)

Lemmingitis reminds me that when Z. was around 5 or 6 he told me he thought he might have "yellowgitis" because his throat hurt :-). Not sure where the yellow came from, but it sure was cute!

I bet he was trying to say (without realizing it), "laryngitis."

I alarmed my mother when I came home from kindergarten and told her my best friend was not at school because she'd "swollowed glass." My mother immediately phoned my friend's mom (who was not her lifelong friend) -- it was "swollen glands."
