So, my monitor is on its way out. And I'm behind on my work. Client is getting annoyed. She said I could turn the project in Thursday OR Friday, but suddenly she wants it Thursday. Too damn bad.
Anyway, I am stuck getting this project started. The muse just ain't here, folks. So I take a few minutes on my late afternoon errand-run (back to print shop with the brochure and the fonts CD, to grocery store for dinner items, etc.) to go to Staples to buy a new Samsung monitor before this one dies. There seem to be only three sales folks in the entire store, and two are on registers and one is (very slowly) helping a couple buy a computer. I *know* which monitor I want, but I have to "ask an associate to get one for you" and no one is even acknowledging my presence. I decide I don't have time for this today, thankyouverymuch, and leave the store. Once home, I'll back everything I'll be working on in the next few days onto the flash drive, so I can switch to the laptop if necessary.
I come home, get the mail... and there is a coupon for $20 off any Staples in-store purchase of $100 or more, good until Sept. 30.
OK.... I'll go there Saturday! After the UU board retreat. And I have to remember that I not only need to buy all the stuff for the lunch on Saturday, but also write and print out an agenda for everyone.
