I was hoping the first time my 2-1/2-year-old monitor flickered a few days ago, it was a power surge (and yes, I do have a surge protector). Same the second time, when it didn't just flicker, but got all bright and then toned down again.. But it just decided to go into lovely magenta hues for a few minutes. I think it's dying... and of course, the service plan expired last March.

Darn. I don't have time for this.

It's an Envision monitor, flat screen. Anyone have any recommendations for flat screen monitors?

I bought a KDS Radius Rad (exact model number I can't remember) in 2003, and it still performs beautifully. Since I use my laptop primarily the KDS doesn't get all that much use, so I can't say it's lasted 4 years with every day use, but still I've been very happy with it.

I too bought mine at Walmart, and I know I didn't pay all that much (and LCD's are cheaper now than in 2003). Here's some reviews that might help:

I've also heard very good tings about the View Sonic monitors, and here's a19 inch at amazingly low prices. Wow, have prices come down in the last few years!

Thanks! From my online searching, I don't think Wal-Mart carries the KDS any more. I found a Samsung on sale at Staples that had good reviews, and then I got a $20 off coupon in the mail. Whee!
