This has been an exhausting two weeks, dominated by followup medical visits and endless automobile and insurance paperwork. I think I'm just about over the craziness, though.

Nope! Spoke too soon! Even as I wrote that last sentence, the phone rang with an automated message from the high school -- they received "information" that caused them to evacuate the school at 9 a.m. and call in the police, who searched the building. After 45 minutes, the students were sent back in.

There was a fake bomb scare there March 30. The message didn't say whether it was a bomb threat today or something else.... sigh.

Back to our regular programming...

1. I'm pleased to report that the second CT scan of the head that Samurai had last week was normal.

EDIT: She has the same head this week, too, in case you were wondering if we'd traded it in. :P  Weird Sentence Construction R Us! Sale now in progress!

2.(Cut just for length)
I had to go back Friday for more mammograms of my left breast because the first ones weren't clear enough. FIVE compressions later, I was told there were microcalcifications that had not been seen last year, and "given your history" (a lumpectomy in the right breast last May for cancer), the radiologist might want me to have another biospy. GAH! He did say that he was "pretty sure" it would be benign. He also said there were only a few microcalcifications, and they might have been there all along, unchanging, but just didn't show up on the earlier films, as they are waaaay back near the armpit. Another radiologist from a big hospital was coming up to see him anyway on Monday, and he would ask his opinion -- do a biopsy, or just watch them?

I haven't heard anything yet, so I'm hoping they've decided to just watch. I do NOT want to have to go through that business all over again less than a year later! I'm going to IRELAND this summer, dammit -- and Chautauqua and the Cape!

3. I gave myself a headache Monday wrestling with a long and difficult project. I wasn't sure I could pull it off. I learned yesterday that the client was very happy with it, which is a huge relief.

4. Yesterday we transferred plates from the totaled vehicle and registered her Rav4. Because she can't legally write checks because of her age, I had to be there to pay the fees and sales tax to the state RMV. I sent the LAST of the insurance paperwork (I hope) back to the company. (Because she was injured, there were more forms than in a simple fender bender.)

5. I spent a chunk of time yesterday digging up our septic tank so it can be pumped tomorrow. My back hurts. One of our two shovels is missing, too. I couldn't find it anywhere.

6. I went to a looong UU board meeting last night. But, projects at church that have been hung up for some time are finally moving forward.

7. I finally got estimates for redoing the kitchen floor, with different figures for tile and Marmoleum. I have a tile I like, but don't know if I want to pay the extra cost (higher than vinyl). I want my friend Becca to come over and advise me on the different colors of the Marmoleum, but she hasn't called me back. *pouts*

8. We are supposed to get 5-6" of SNOW tonight and tomorrow!

That's all, folks.

That's all, and that's a lot. Wooo. I'm going to hold tight to the idea of benign.

Thanks. I'm more annoyed by this whole thing than alarmed. The radiologist asked me for "permission" to wait until Monday and show his friend the films, as if I'd object. I think I offended him somewhat by saying, "Well, I'd rather have a delayed recommendation comes back 'just watch,' instead of a hurried recommendation says, 'another biopsy.'"

There are only seven microcalcifications. I learned last year that whatever number I had started with, which had remained stable for years, had increased to 17, which was around the number where they start wondering about biopsies.

Those were also in the area that is the most common for breast cancer. These aren't anywhere close.

Hugs! Holding good energy that these are just calcifications and nothing more.

Very glad you have not had to swap Samurai heads.

Septic tank trouble is never a good thing.

It's not that kind of sh*t ... :P.

We're not having any trouble with the septic tank -- it's just the routine pumping we do every 3-4 years. If we dig up the dirt to expose the tank before the pump truck gets here, we don't have to pay the pump guys to do that part of it. And if it's snowing while they are here, they'll be happy not to make some extra bucks.

*Sending positive vibes* to your boobs. I really hope this turns out to be nothing at all.

Also, I'm glad that the head Samurai had (and still has) is ok! :)

Thank you. I'm betting it's nothing at all, but I'd rather not have to have a second biopsy to find out. I'd rather just watch it. If there are some more in six months or a year, that will be a different story.

I can't count my microcalcifications. I sure hope yours are not worth biopsying; a second biopsy makes your risk numbers higher and means you'll have more. Definitely not my idea of fun. I'll keep you in my thoughts for the verdict to be "harmless."
