My daughter just spotted our latest backyard visitor 

 (A red-tailed hawk)

and snapped a photo. (I had to play with the contrast a bit because he or she was heavily backlit by the sun on the grass -- our grass really is greener than that!)

That's one thing I miss about growing up in the country: all the wildlife. In Dallas, it's pretty much limited to feral cats, pidgeons and big-haired blondes.

God, I love hawks! I think they're about the most magnificent birds in the world.
