When our computer monitor went up in a cloud of smoke just over a year ago the husband and I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a 17" LCD flat screen/panel monitor by KDS. I'd never heard of the company before, but I LOVE the monitor. Our old one was the original that came with the computer when we bought it at Best Buy. It was a HEAVY, large 17" flat screen. Our new one weighs maybe 10 lbs (what the box said) and is flat panel so it takes up much less desk space. Good luck!
