... unless I were Parisian, I guess. This past week has had far too many night meetngs or other events, far too few of being at home at a reasonable hour with my family, even if we are just watching "CSI."  I met with the ad hoc committee trying to save the deteriorating Tiffany and LaFarge stained glass windows at our church, drove my daughter 14 miles to a night Girl Scouts meeting only to learn no one had bothered to tell us it was cancelled, made a main dish for 16 and drove it (in snowstorm) to a homeless shelter and served it to the homeless guests, dined with them and washed the dishes, and led a Small Group Ministry sample session Friday night for my church (Unitarian Universalist). The funny thing about the last is, the gathering was held at the home of a lovely older (in comparison to me! ;- ) woman. As I came into her house, I heard a dog barking. I exclaimed happily, "I didn't know you had a dog!" Then, after putting my bundles of papers, chalice and such down, went to give her a hug while saying how much I appreciated her hosting the group. The dog thought I was attacking her!! He leaped at my thigh and bit it, drawing blood. She felt terrible. The dog is not hers, but her daughter's, and she was already feeling as if she didn't want to be responsible for taking care of it. I wasn't mad at the dog, and at the end of the evening, we were friends. But it was odd. Animals usually like me right away. Anyway, the Small Group Ministry session that followed went well.

The next night (Saturday), my daughter and I went to the high school musical, "Urinetown." If you haven't heard of it, yes, as even one character in it says, "It's a horrible name" -- but it is good. The cast was very good. Incredible talent in those kids.

Then Sunday, the church service my group had been working on happened, and it went well.

Tonight my daughter -- who is ill but insisted on going to school -- had a mandatory band rehearsal that went from 7:00 - 9:00. My husband stayed home sick today, so I took her to the rehearsal, went to Target to get a few things and, mainly, kill time (we live too far out of town to drop her off and come back), until I could pick her up. Then we came home to this very late dinner.

Tomorrow she has the band concert, so she has to be there about 6:45 -- which means another late night. Poor kid. Poor spouse. Poor me.

But good news is, new bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet were installed last week, and  I just learned the guy can come back Thursday to paint! So my redecorating of the public rooms of this house (meaning downstairs) is almost done! I would paint it myself, but my pinched nerve is firing up again. I think it is because I'm using the laptop, not the desktop still in Best Buy shop... I need my ergonomic keyboard shelf height again!
