I tightened up the deer fence around the vegetable beds this evening, and then started to plant the herbs I bought yesterday. I was going to put in the lettuce plants, also. But... something bit my ankle and drew the first blood of the season. I retreated to the house in defeat.
The bugs have arrived. Not sure if that was a no-see-'em, or something else. Not a tick, though.
And.... in my kitchen as I write this, an ant is brazenly marching across my cookbook.
In other news.... not much. I wrote two letters (one an adaptation of another, for a different mailing list) for a consortium of hospices, and sent them off. Heard back from a different client about a letter I sent Tuesday that I was not too happy about myself, but I didn't know what else to do. She wants me to revise it. I told her I'd do it tomorrow. Having some distance from the first draft helps me see things from a new perspective. Wish me luck. I have my Covenant Group at 10 a.m., and it'd be great if I could get the letter revised and sent off before I leave at 9:30 a.m.
Now I will stop to saute some cod fillets, nuke some asparagus and serve 'em up with Near East Sesame Ginger rice mix when they're done.
