the only two people who responded to my "which one is the truth?" post (the instructions I was given were to say six things about myself, five if which were to be lies). The veil of deception was pierced by
lurkitty and
sapphirescarlet
1. I learned to downhill ski on Mt. Hood.
2. The first loss I experienced as a small child was that of my maternal grandfather.
3. I smoked pot in college (but only a few times).
4. During the cold war, I was the instigator behind visits to Soviet freighters by kids from my high school.
5. My name is Janis because my original due date was in January (Janus --> Janis, get it?); I ended up being born prematurely by C-section in late November, but my parents kept the name anyway.
6. We had a golden retriever who liked to lick my face when I was in grade school.
1. I have never downhill skiied anywhere.
2. I never knew either grandfrather.
3. I have never smoked pot.
5. My mother had a coworker named Janis and liked the name. I was not born prematurely.
6. The only dog I've ever had was Cinder (as an adult.)
If you are curious, here is the story about Number 4, taken from a post I made in March:
