I have been wanting to do the exercise in which one posts the first sentence of the first post of each month, but often the posts were memes. And posting those seemed silly. So I have broken the rules and gone to the first posts that were original/personal. (And, given the first one for 2007, in which "break the rules" is clearly advised, it all works out! :) )

If you look at 2007 in this light (from the lines below), I really have a lot to be thankful for.

January
New Year's mantra from [personal profile] rowangolightly, who got it from [personal profile] docjeff, who got it from someone else....

Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile. Have faith in those you love.

February
I gave myself the day off today, even though that means I'll need to work some this weekend. (I went shopping.)

March
Worried -- just saw a headline on CNN.com about tornadoes in Missouri. (It had struck the small town where an LJ friend lived. He was OK..)

April
Samurai's Algebra II grade for the winter trimester was an A+. Not, as reported by this correspondent  yesterday, an A.

May
HA! Take that, Ms. Alto-Knows-it-All! (OK, two sentences, but "HA!" wouldn't make much sense... this was about the misinformation provided to me about what the town required for materials to replace the UU Wayside Pulpit sign. She was wrong. Dead wrong. HA! again!!!!)

June
I sent funds via Western Union today to help a friend in an abusive marriage escape. (Subject line was: Green Light, White Light, whatever you use ... please help!)

July
Got back around 11 p.m. Thursday from Chautauqua, ran around Friday like a headless chicken, and arrived with family at Cape Cod at 6 p.m. last night.

August
OK, so I finished my last (?) assignment at 1:30 today -- exactly 24 hours before we will be picked up by the van service to go to the airport. (We were bound for Ireland!)

September
Looking for a deal on a laptop/notebook battery? (I'd  been in need of one, found a deal, and remembered that an LJ friend was also looking for one, but wasn't sure who it was. Turns out I was right.)

October
The last few days were  very busy. (On how I participated in the Connecticut River Source-to-the-Sea cleanup event, and other things.)

November
I learned something new yesterday! (How I was a textbook case of LADA, Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults, a newly classified type of diabetes.)

December
After months of red tape and delays for other reasons, the new sign at my UU Meetinghouse that I and Charlie donated is installed and operational!
